An alarm was buzzing with a catchy but repetitive jingle on and off again as the Pokemon Trainer failed to respond to it.

A nearby Zorua, Shenan, perturbed by the sound, darted up to the trainer’s bed and poked at his trainer’s face. Therru was sound asleep, buried under more blankets than usual, and showed no signs of waking.

Shenan wondered at how to wake her, and as he pondered the situation— alarm still blaring in the background— he came up with the beginnings of a Nasty Plot…

Gathering up Pokemon in various states between wakefulness and sleep, Fraser, Plato, and Silver were the first trio to find themselves directed back to the trainer’s bedroom. Shenan, thinking the lower leveled group might be able to handle some restraint towards their trainer, told the others to use their abilities to wake Therru up. Fraser lifted the blankets away and floated the trainer gently enough with a Psyshock move (not to worry, he didn’t fulfill the last part of the attack!), while Silver attempted to gently blow a Flamethrower above the trainer’s face. As that showed no signs of waking the trainer up, Plato was directed to send a few coins hurtling her way with a Pay Day, but even the slightly hard coins hitting various (non-serious) places on the trainer did nothing. Therru did not even show discomfort! In any case, the Pokemon did not want to hurt their trainer, and told Shenan to let her sleep if she was that determined. However, Shenan continued with his thoughts— surely something must be up? And with that danged alarm waking him from sleep… he was determined to get some amount of revenge.

He went outside again and found Selm, Baron, and Ichabod wandering about. Shenan thought another trio of attacks might jar their trainer awake, as three was a good number, and so he explained the situation to them. Their tricky natures did give the Pokemon a bit more impetus to mess with their trainer a bit, and so as the three proceeded to first set up a Helping Hand with Selm— proceed into a loud Supersonic with Baron, and finally end things off with a resounding Astonish move by Ichabod— they were surprised to see their plan didn’t work!

Something seemed odd. No Pokemon or person could withstand a boosted Supersonic/Astonish combo and still remain asleep could they? Therru’s hearing was normal and fine after all… this was strange.

However, Shenan’s determination to get their trainer awake, even at the risk of potential short-term pranking-harm coming to her, would not be stopped. His Nasty Plot continued without stopping.

He brought another trio with him, this time finding Tarja, Makia, and Sri in the nearby vicinity. Shenan explained the situation as an odd one, focusing first on his general annoyance towards the still blaring alarm, but then on the strangeness of how their trainer simply wouldn’t wake… This made the trio of female Pokemon concerned. Tarja and Makia did not wish to really hurt their trainer, but Sri made the point to Shenan that she wouldn’t be afraid to dish out some hurt if it meant helping their trainer out.

The three continued back indoors to Therru’s room, the Espeon (Tarja) first setting up another Helping Hand move. Makia and Sri then proceeded to combine their respective Thundershock and Discharge attacks. Even with all their energy poured into their trainer, poor Therru, whose clothes now seemed slightly dirtied and static charged— she would not wake!
Shenan’s Nasty Plot ended, and his ‘special attack’ was given a greater boost. (Special attack here being more as ‘intuition’.) No longer was this a simple matter of pranking their trainer, something was wrong. The Zorua knew as his trainer’s first Pokemon that he would need to do whatever possible to aid her, even if, once again, there was short term harm involved.

He ran back out of Therru’s bedroom and went to gather a few of the more powerful members of the ranch in terms of sheer force. They would be able to restrain their moves on a human, of course, but surely with their strength— the pain would cause Therru to awaken.

A dismayed Libelle, Ramphor, and Delta were brought into the situation. These three had the most powerful bites on the entire ranch, and Shenan explained that while of course no one wanted to severely injure Therru— what else could they do? No one on the ranch could use Heal Pulse! They would bring Therru any healing items she needed upon her awakening (or should they fail, the Pokemon would use them on her themselves), but they needed to get her awake by any means necessary.

With as great an amount of care as they could, the Aerodactyl and Trapinch crosses each used their Bite attacks (lightly!) on Therru’s extremities. Now, they did end up causing more of a pinch than anything else, the Pokemon knew that a human’s skin was much weaker than a Pokemon’s hide, but even pinching their trainer brought them a lot of anxiousness and sorrow. They simply couldn’t continue, and told Shenan as such. Surely they could find another way?

Shenan told them they already tried electricity, and even fire (almost). Nothing woke their trainer. Something else was going on if their trainer couldn’t be woken up. Was it some other Pokemon’s ability perhaps? There was nothing near the ranch that could control sleeping to their knowledge… some Pokemon on the ranch could perchance learn moves relating to Hypnosis or Sleep Powder, but they were nowhere near Therru the entire time.

Not even a Spore move could cause this deep a sleep right? Shenan found the Shroomish, Kino, sleeping peacefully outside under the trees nearby the house. He asked her what she knew about the Spore move. Kino told him while she knew the move herself, all that she knew about the move was that it could easily cause a deep sleep— but not one this deep. It sounded more like a Psychic, Ghost, or Dark move’s affect to her to be honest. A Grass or Poison type move would’ve required someone be directly in the vicinity of Therru sleeping— and if Shenan slept near her that night before, they would’ve had to come around Shenan as well.

The situation was puzzling… Shenen wondered what to do next as he walked back to his trainer’s bedroom. The other Pokemon were beginning to panic after all, and that alarm was still blaring! What could he do to help the situation?
I have to admit I feel I started to ramble a slight bit-- but essentially what I took from week one of the event-- no matter what you do, the trainers simply won't wake! Might as well throw all the attacks you can at 'em... I mean, Shenan did enlist a good number of Pokemon at my ranch in this event.

And yet, all his best attempts still failed! Alas.

Speaking of which, all Pokemon involved gained 7 levels. (This is over 1000+ words, and the mission also confers an extra +2 to each.)

Shenan gained 9 levels and also learned Nasty Plot! (I did dedicate at least 400 words of this to his 'hatching' of his plot after all. He will also get the +2 levels from mentioning my trainer in the story.)

Fraser, Plato, Silver, Selm, Baron, Ichabod, Tarja, Makia, Sri, Libelle, Ramphor, Delta, and Kino all also gain 7 levels each for their best efforts in waking their trainer!

For PKMNation of course.
